Evolving our leadership for the future
We’ve made some exciting leadership appointments at the Icehouse as we gear up for the next 25 years. New roles, new talent, and a continued commitment to supporting NZ’s business owners.
As the Icehouse looks ahead to its next chapter, we’re evolving our leadership structure to ensure we remain future-fit and deeply aligned to the needs of New Zealand’s SME owners and leaders.
We’re excited to announce two new leadership appointments:
- Christy Stead has been appointed Head of Business Operations, another new role focused on strengthening how we operate, from systems and processes to insights and customer delivery.

-
Rachel Stotter joins as Head of Learning and Innovation, a newly created role that will lead the evolution of our offering and ensure we’re delivering the learning, capability, and experiences our business owners need in the years ahead.

We’re also joined by Di Murphy, who steps into a fractional Sales Manager role on the leadership team. Di will lead the sales function as we build towards a new full-time appointment in 2026. As with many of our customers, we’re bringing in deep expertise at the right time to accelerate growth and impact.

After almost 20 years in executive leadership at the Icehouse, Liz Wotherspoon is stepping out of her formal leadership role but continuing to do what she loves most, working directly with New Zealand’s business owners and leaders. Liz has played a huge role in shaping the Icehouse over the years, helping to grow its impact and guide its evolution.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything Liz has contributed, and the great news is, she’ll continue to deliver across our flagship programmes and be available for advisory work, staying close to the mahi that drives her (and us).
These changes represent our intent to grow boldly, adapt with purpose, and continue backing the business owners who shape Aotearoa’s future. With a refreshed leadership team, a clear direction, and a 25-year legacy to build from, we’re energised for what’s next. The future of business in New Zealand is changing and the Icehouse is right there, evolving with it.
