eBUS Acquired by IMD
The eBUS Media Network has been acquired by London-based media logistics operator IMD.
eBUS started operation in 2005 when Carmine Masiello decided to settle in NZ after sailing with his family around the world.
eBUS started with excellent momentum in the NZ market and then created a strategy for where to next, which essentially was Asia given the main markets of North America and Europe had already played out competitively.
The first international market was India which has subsequently followed with Indonesia and Australia. As part of this international expansion, and to be closer to the main international markets, the founder and head of development moved to Singapore in 2009, leaving COO Mike Orton to be based in NZ.
Current operations of eBUS include customers in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, India and Singapore as well as international deliveries to North America & Europe
The acquisition will allow IMD to strengthen its digital TV ad delivery service in Asia-Pacific where eBUS has established a peerless reputation as the most reliable and fastest service in the region with the widest geographical offering.
The powerful position of eBUS in its market can be traced to its unique, innovative completely cloud-based and scalable platform which, amongst other things allows TV ads to be delivered in less than 10 minutes. Other valuable eBUS customer advantages include native HD support, 24/7 access and automatic quality control.
Carmine Masiello says IMD's investment in eBUS will speed up expansion in the Asia Pacific region. "We look forward to being supported by a shareholder that combines financial strength with an intimate understanding of what we do and who we are," he says.
eBus came into The ICEHOUSE incubator in 2005 and was an investee of ICE Angels in 2012.
