Is there a market for your business idea?
To turn an opportunity into a sustainable business, you need a proven market. The ICEHOUSE Market Validation Programme guides residents to make an informed decision about whether they should invest further time and money into the business idea.
The goal of the Market Validation Programme is answer two key questions:
- Should I do it? Is there a market problem that is experienced by a large audience that is willing to pay for a solution?
- How do I do it? What is the preferred solution, containing the required features that can be sold to initial customers at a suitable price point?

Chris White – Co-founder and CEO of BigLittleBang (ICEHOUSE Resident 2008 – 2010)
At the very early stage Market Validation was crucial for BigLittleBang. It quickly showed that the real market for the business would not be grown-ups, as originally assumed, but kids. Additionally it helped them capture crucial customer feedback to ensure the product features would be what customers really want. ICEHOUSE Executive in Residence and Market Validation specialist Duncan Ledwith offered valuable guidance and advice during this process.

Ben Milson – Co-founder and COO of Nexx (ICEHOUSE Resident 2008):
“The ICEHOUSE was an experience and a process that was vital to the success of our business. Strong guidance over market validation, governance and product development helped us establish an early stage company that was successfully able to raise angel funding in a tough market. The EIR’s proved to be a hugely valuable resource for their real-world skills and advice, strong networks that opened many doors and highly understanding nature that allows our company to grow successfully, but in its own way.”
