NZ Angel Investment Showcase

The Showcase is a one-night event featuring presentations by 15 hand-picked start-ups to New Zealand’s largest gathering of angel investors, CEOs, and venture capitalists.

We have now confirmed the first of the total fifteen high caliber start-ups that will be presenting on the day. Investors will have the chance to hear from and invest in 15 of NZ’s most promising start-ups, including:

‘Virtual Mirror’ technology that use cutting-edge art and science to photo-realistically predict how clothing will look and fit using either a web-browser of a smart phone.

 

Revolutionary technology harnessing the natural power of cells to create widely applicable protein-dense biopolymer particles, or biobeads.

 

Mobile App technology that records audio content and converts it into highly accurate text that can be shared, stored, searched and monetized.

 

An innovative technology that removes expensive and ineffective nets from the process of combatting damage caused by birds to high value fruit crops

 

A 3D virtual world for children aged 5-15 to have fun and be creative with music, regardless of their musical background.

 

 

Superior prostate cancer diagnostics based upon six biomarkers that is less prone to false negatives and positives than the PSA test

 

 

Interactive systems for recovery from stroke and other neurological conditions at home.

 

 

An enterprise semantic search solution based upon specialized natural language processing and text analytics.

 

 

Last year, 16 start-ups from around New Zealand presented to over 200 Angel Investors. 11 of the start-ups raised money as a result of the night and a total of $2.5m was invested by the angel investors in attendance.
