CEO of Ngāti Pūkenga, Rahera Ohia – one of the country’s top 25 influencers for 2012.
Unlimited Magazine has named its 25 influencers this year. Along with ICEHOUSE CEO, Andy Hamilton, the CEO of Te Au Māro o Ngāti Pūkenga, Rahera Ohia has been named “The Innovator” in this year’s Influencers list. Rahera is on a mission to make entrepreneurship and innovation an integral part of the tribe’s culture, the first step being a partnership with The ICEHOUSE.
If the initiative gets innovative ideas off the ground, it could be the forerunner to collaborations between the two organisations and other iwi — and the establishment of a national Māori Innovation Network.
Rahera is a member of the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic council and the CEO/lead negotiator for Tauranga-based Ngāti Pukenga iwi’s Treaty of Waitangi settlement entity.
